Are we on the right track for recovery in Europe?



Catherine Mann will present an excerpt from the OECD Economic Outlook just days after its publication, scheduled for mid-November.
The focus of her talk will be the Euro Zone, for which an estimate of the initial results of the ECB's easing quantitative measures will be given, along with an explanation of the actions required to actually attain economic recovery in Europe, from the standpoint of the OECD.She will focus on the following questions:
- why is investment so weak?
- what prospects for employment?
- what is source of productivity slowdown?
- are external imbalances a problem for growth?
- is fiscal consolidation self-defeating?
- can monetary policy do more?
