The Art of Negotiating: Lessons from the World of Diplomacy

Negotiating is a part of everyday life, but in business it's absolutely critical to your success.
Businesses life is characterized by the interaction between actors engaged in making decisions, solving problems and building new knowledge. In these landscape, conflicts of different interests can occur and cause negative effects on performance. Negotiation is that important tool that helps changing conflict into a constructive experience.
Dr. Nick Coburn-Palo, who has worked as a consulting diplomat trainer for the United Nations, will share with us his competences on how to find "Win-Win" solutions.
He will focus on the skills and techniques which will permit you to make breakthroughs in challenging negotiations.
Sharing practical experience from training diplomats across several decades, Dr. Coburn-Palo will address the following three topics:
1) Reframing challenges to turn them into "Win-Win" opportunities
2) Bridging cultural differences to create opportunities from potential crises
3) Evaluating when and how to upset the chessboard in a deadlocked negotiation
By addressing these important points, participants will gain valuable insights into how to garner victory from contentious negotiations, finding durable outcomes and avoiding alienating stakeholders while still maximizing their strategic position.
