Covid-19 epidemic increased the confrontation between the two world’s superpowers, United States and China. This rivalry does not only reflect a different a political system, but first and foremost two different economic governance models and technologic trajectories. After building its growth on export-oriented low-added value productions, in the last decades China has significantly increased its capacity to innovate, becoming leader in strategic technologies, such as AI, 5g, facial recognition.
