Sustainability metrics and management: the path from innovation to routine

The current phase of transformation in economic and governance models places sustainability at the core of organizational management and investment decisions. In this context, the ability to measure sustainability in a rigorous and comparable way represents one of the most significant challenges for managers and investors.
In this event, Steven Cohen – Senior Vice Dean and Professor at Columbia University and author of the book Sustainability Metrics and Management – will offer an in-depth reflection on the role of sustainability metrics as a foundation for effective and responsible management, exploring the relationship between measurement, risk, and performance.
In particular, participants will explore:

- sustainability metrics: how to design indicators that support internal decision-making processes and how to make such metrics reliable and comparable over time and across organizations
- sustainability and financial risk: why sustainability-related risk is now an essential component of capital evaluation and allocation processes
- risk management and managerial effectiveness: the relationship between risk management capabilities, management quality, and organizational performance
- measurement and sustainability management: the role of ESG metrics in integrating sustainability into performance and risk management systems.
